While working as a registered nurse, prior to medical school, I decided to pursue a medical specialty that called for prioritization on empathy. During my residency training, I came to understand that restoring quality of life and functionality cannot be accomplished without addressing the underlying pain and taking a holistic approach to patient care. Pain medicine offered the opportunity to utilize both my nursing training and medical training to accomplish these goals.

My goal for my patients is very simple and attainable: treat all patients with personalized care plans focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. The strongest scientific evidence supports this multi-modal approach. The pain experience mirrors the human experience in that it is unique and distinctive to each person. A care plan should reflect this reality instead of the conventional one-box-fits-all approach seen in modern pain medicine. I also pride myself on placing an importance in explaining complex medical jargon in plain English, as it is important that my patients understand their illness.

I treat all conditions causing pain with particular emphasis on musculoskeletal disease including all joint issues, with additional specialization in spine-related pathology and pain. I am dedicated to utilizing cutting edge procedures and medical advancements to improve quality of life and optimize functionality.
